Speed has always been the focus of the Specialized Demo, and the Specialized Demo Race Downhill Mountain Bike continues that tradition. Featuring an innovative frame design that allows for mixed wheel sizes (a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel) this bike strikes the perfect balance between traction and maneuverability. This setup, tested by World Champion Loïc Bruni and recently approved by the UCI, led the Demo Race to both the Downhill World Championship and World Cup titles in its debut season.

Now, that same championship-winning configuration is available straight out of the box. The adjustable rear end lets you switch between 27.5 and 29-inch rear wheels, allowing customisation for different terrains and riding styles, while maintaining proper chainstay length and bottom bracket height for optimal performance.

The Demo Race is built for speed on demanding downhill tracks. Its rear suspension features a rearward axle path to minimise rear-wheel hang-up, delivering smoother and faster rides.

Equipped with an top-tier Öhlins suspension, the bike leverages proven World Cup-level kinematics. The Öhlins TTX22M.2 coil shock provides adjustable low-speed compression and rebound, while the Trunnion mount increases durability. Up front, the Öhlins DH38 m.1 fork with 200mm of travel offers exceptional small-bump sensitivity and superior control, ensuring smoother, faster, and more confident runs.

Complete with SRAM’s DH-specific X01 drivetrain, the Demo Race is engineered for podium-level performance, from the start gate to the finish line.

DEMO (STYLE SPECIFIC-SIZING) MY21 SIZING GUIDE

S-Sizing is based on what matters; rider size and style, not inseam. Six sizes, all with similar headtube lengths and standover allow you to choose the size that best suits your individual style. Smaller S-Size numbers are going to be more nimble, thanks to their shorter reach and front-center measurement, while bigger S-Sizes deliver more stability and a roomier ride.
